ACS Document 1996 is a structural drawing format that some professional chemical journals require. It specifies in detail the chain angle, bond spacing, bond length bold width, line width, as well as the font and size of the element. ACS settings should be used for both structures and reaction schemes. These settings are usually available as templates in chemical drawing programs.
In this tutorial, my objective is to walk you through the steps required to change the default document settings to ACS document 1996 in KingDraw. Let’s get it!
In KingDraw PC, users can quickly set ACS Document 1996 by right-clicking on canvas, then selecting “Document Setting”→ “Apply Document Settings From”→ “ACS document 1996”
Users can also quickly modify the drawing template of the current file through the “Menu” → “File” → “Apply Document Settings form”→ “ACS Document 1996” option on the toolbar.
After changing the drawing document, a warning pop-up will appear.
Select “Don’t modify existing” to apply the changed settings to the newly drawn objects only; or
select “modify existing” to apply the changed settings to all objects.
KingDraw App & HD:
In KingDraw App or HD, users just need to click “96” in the toolbar to quickly shift the ACS document 1996 drawing format.
Custom Drawing Template
Different templates have different drawing styles. Among them, “KingDraw Document” and “ACS Document 1996” are system default drawing styles and cannot be modified. If you want to set up your own drawing style, select “User-defined Document”.
